Crafters And Musicians Bring It To Andersonville This Saturday

The weather may not always feel like spring in EdgeVille these days, but you can find some sunshine and fun at a craft show to be located at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1650 W. Foster, on Saturday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event is known as Crafters and Musicians. Founder and organizer Alexandra Jamroz has featured her jewelry at smaller shows but decided in recent years that there needed to be more to a show than crafters. Jamroz said her husband is a musician, so she thought it would be an easy step to invite him and others to share in the craft show experience.

“I used to do a show at Let Them Eat Chocolate,” she said. “We may have had about eight crafters and would do a show every month or two. The people were great, but I thought it would be good to do more with more crafters, a larger space, less frequent shows and a place for the musicians.”

Ebenezer Lutheran Church has provided a welcoming space, Jamroz said.

She is only one of several crafters who look forward to meeting the public. Her company, Maka Designs, was featured in a Time Out Chicago blog which commented, “Everyone’s looking for a little zen in their lives, so why not get some peace and harmony from your jewelry? Maka Designs uses yoga poses and nature as inspiration for their textured metal plate pieces, which are painstakingly hammered and forged into organic, wearable art.”
