Chicago’s traffic cameras OK’d by appeals court

The 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled in support of the city of Chicago to continue and expand the use of mounted cameras to photograph cars that run red lights. We’ve seen these cameras at the intersection of Broadway and Foster, and wouldn’t be surprised to see more in Edgewater soon. A lawsuit was filed against the city’s use of the cameras claiming that it was a violation of equal protection or due process from three plaintiffs who claimed that someone else was driving their car when caught on camera running a red light.
