It has been a Chicago staple since 1983, selling everything ‘strange’ from vintage t-shirts to kooky novelty items. Now, the Wrigleyville store Strange Cargo is moving their store to Andersonville to begin a new chapter for the business.

The current owners, brothers Jay and Sheldon Schwartz, purchased the Wrigleyville store at 3448 N Clark St. in 1993 and continued to sell deadstock and vintage items as well as all the other quirky items to feed your nostalgic taste.

According to their website, the company expanded their offerings after coming across an old t-shirt shop that had been shuttered since the early 80s. They purchased the contents of the forgotten store and the team began to create and customize their own designs which has given them a new focus through the years.

Strange Cargo will take over the shuttered clothing store Presence at 5216 N Clark. According to the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, the store plans a March 30 opening at their new store.
