Both Broadway stores co-existed for several months as I remember. My mom called the new location “Sister Dominick’s”. I’m not 100% certain, but I think that sometime in the early 60’s the 6125 location housed an S.S. Kresge department store. The Kresge chain eventually became K-Mart.

The 2 Stores were not open at the same time. They wanted to enlarge so they built the present store and closed the on Walgreens was in.

Why the hell was there a Dominick’s literally a block away? Also looking at that link provided, why were there two so close to each other in Andersonville?

Let’s hope that our local store is purchased by another chain. Would be a shame to lose this.
