The ugliness is the loss of real people, meaning diverse people, meaning lower middle class people, meaning poor people.

At least the building will get rid of some of those ghetto auto repair places.

We need more unoccupied ground floor retail space between Foster and Lawrence! More cars fighting for parking is always a welcome addition to any neighborhood, too. Thank you. I wonder how long it will take the new yuppie condo owners to start lobbying to get rid of Village thrift and the lower-income people it attracts.

Also–does that developer understand that we have one of the finest indy bookstores in the entire freaking country in this neighborhood already? One that has survived an industry completely upended in the past 25 years. WTH is a suggested bookstore as retail anchor in that rendering all about? Someone is either unschooled about the neighborhood or trying to be offensive.
