Too big with too many parking spaces. Edgewater doesn’t need any more congestion and glass boxes filling empty lots. Build respectfully and within the height code. Just another vanity project for the 1% developer.

What are the people that park in the lot at Sheridan and Catalpa supposed to do for 18 months while they build this highrise? Where do we park in the meantime?

I think they have high expectations for $2.50 per square foot that they probably won’t get unless the units are amazingly high end. Those rates are even higher then renting downtown.

We should have added that per an email from ASCO, The Edgewater Plaza, 5445, owned a vacant lot adjoining the property which it swapped for 125 of those spaces.

320 parking spaces for 190 units, thats crazy! The CTA is right at your doorstep and yet the developers are assuming nearly 2 parking spaces for every unit. I’m guessing this is dictated by parking minimum requirements. As a city we need to stop encouraging more congestion like 320 cars will bring.
