Best of Andersonville Awards! And the Winners Are…

Thursday, April 10, 2014
By Keely Jones

Aville_Honors_Badge_FATuesday April 8 was the annual Andersonville Honors Gala, hosted at the Fireside Grill. The Andersonville Development Corporation alongside the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce  handed out “Best of” awards  to honor volunteers and businesses  that make our neighborhood feel so tight-knit and unique in the city of Chicago. There to hand out the awards and sing the praises of our many loved neighbors were 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar and 40th Ward Alderman Patrick O’Connor. The guests in attendance were from every category — local business owners,  representatives from our nonprofit organizations, volunteers in the area, artists, chefs from our famous restaurants, and well-known characters from your favorite drinking holes and places to shop. Silent auction items were donated from many of the businesses along our main shopping corridors. Laughter filled the space. The evening’s events were a reminder of the people and places that make our neighborhood so supportive and authentic in a large city like Chicago.

The winners for the Andersonville Honors Gala of 2014 are…

Congrats to all of the many businesses nominated and all those in attendance for serving as an example of what it means to be such amazing neighbors in Andersonville!

Sir Spa? Really? I’ve never had a good experience there. The staff is incredibly rude. I’ve taken my business elsewhere. (Not that they care.)

Good for Taste of Lebanon, and Pie Hole! I love those places. Ranalli’s needs more love too.
Also, Hopleaf is smug and overrated.

I agree with the comment about Sir Spa. After new owners took over it went downhill and I started going to Revive further south on Clark. Happy about Taste of Lebanon. The best lentil soup ever.
