Ann Sather Coming to Edgewater

Ann Sather will soon occupy for the former Bananas Foster Cafe space (1147 W Granville), located on the southeast corner of Broadway & Granville. According to one EVB reader, there is a sign on the window indicating they will open “shortly.” This news was officially confirmed this morning from Alderman Osterman’s office.

“I am extremely excited to announce that Ann Sather will be opening another location at Granville and Broadway in the Bananas Foster Space.” Osterman stated. “This is an exciting development for Granville as the street continues to develop commercially, becoming a vibrant hub for business.”

Bananas Foster Cafe was opened by owner John Winslow in February 2009, and the place became so popular they soon added a dinner menu and expanded their space (check out our review). However, Winslow suffered health issues late last year, which forced the popular brunch spot to close their doors unexpectedly in October.

With four locations across the city (Lakeview (2), Roscoe Village, Andersonville), Ann Sather is owned by 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney and is most known for their delicious cinnamon buns and breakfast fare. We look forward to their second location in our neighborhood!
