Andersonville Ranks In Yelp’s National Top 50 Neighborhoods For Economic Development

Once again snagging a top national placement, Andersonville has showed that starting a local business here can be fruitful.

Andersonville (No. 26) was among five Chicago neighborhoods that made the Yelp-organized top 50 list that showed positive change for economic development. The other areas were Bucktown (No. 11), Lincoln Park (No. 15), Near North Side (No. 28) and West Lawn (No. 47).

According to the  Yelp’s Local Economic Outlook, the list of 50 neighborhoods in the U.S. were ranked by economic opportunity. They defined “economic opportunity” as the chance businesses have to stay open, and for new businesses thrive.

The list was compiled to showcase which local communities show the most potential for a new business to succeed. Yelp looked at each area and the positive change they have made over the last year to predict which neighborhoods show future potential.

Though Chicago as a whole only ranked 38 on the list of cities with positive economic development, the five local neighborhoods that ranked on the list show our city still demonstrates strong potential.
