Andersonville Dentist Launches Program That Will Cover Dental Work For Local Person In Need

Going to the dentist is a normal part of many people’s lives, however for some it is a luxury they may not be able to achieve. In response, a local dentist has launched a new program that will restore the smile of one area resident who faces hardship free of charge.

Opening  Lakeshore Dental Studio at 5505 N. Clark in Andersonville earlier this year, Dr. Kapil Kella DDS truly feels he has chosen the right neighborhood. With it being his first business, he wanted to create a state-of-the-art office that focused on an anxiety-free environment to help soothe patient’s nerves.

With his caring approach to dentistry, Dr. Kella has received an overwhelming amount of support from the community and was looking for a way to give back. Taking from a friend who was running a similar type of program, he decided to launch a campaign to find a local person who was both experiencing hardship and in need of dental repair.

“Everyone has a story and hardships seem to be abundant out there,” said Dr. Kella. “There are many people who have not been able to get the dental health they require and it is holding them back from doing the things they may need to do. We are hoping Project Smile will give someone confidence because laughing and smiling are good things for you.”

The program is called Project Smile and it will offer the lucky person a complete dental makeover. People interested can send their story to Dr. Kella explaining what has held them back from getting their dental care, what the hardships have been and what they think a smile makeover will do for them personally.

They will select three finalists from the submissions who will receive a free check-up and teeth cleaning at Lakeshore Dental Studio. From there they will select one lucky person for a complete dental transformation.

According to Dr. Kella, anyone can submit their entry. He said, “This is not all about the dental treatment for a person, it’s more about their story. It’s about who has been through the most and who will benefit the most. That is what I am looking for.”

The program was launched on Facebook Live in early August and submissions have already been coming in. Submissions will be accepted through October 10, 2018 by emailing info@lakeshoredentalstudio.com  with your personal story and photos of yourself including images of your smile and teeth.
