Andersonville Bank Robbed Yesterday By Man Wanted For Several Other Heists

A man who is wanted by the FBI for four bank robberies in the Chicago area, two of which were in the last month, hit again yesterday at an Andersonville area bank.

Bringing his total to five heists since the beginning of the year, the man took aim at the TCF Bank branch inside the Jewel-Osco at 5516 N. Clark on Monday, June 17 at 5:49 p.m. According to the FBI, he entered the TCF Bank and handed the teller a note that demanded money and that he was armed with a gun.

The man then exited the bank through its East door with an unspecified amount of cash in tow. The suspect is described as a black male in his 50s, standing 5’7″ tall and 180 pounds.

The man is wanted for other incidents at the Chase Bank at 10 S. Dearborn at 1:10 p.m. on Jan. 16th, the Lakeside Bank at 1350 S. Michigan at 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 31, the Lakeside Bank at 55 W. Wacker at 4:55 p.m. on May 28, and the Royal Bank at 2740 West 55th Street on June 7th.

This is not the first time that the TCF Bank at 5516 N. Clark has been the target of a robbery. Another incident happened on Jan. 9, 2017 at 10:14 a.m. after a man also walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The FBI is offering a reward of $1000 to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Please call the FBI’s Chicago Field Office at 312-421-6700.
