There's a great photo archive on the web from the old Chicago Daily News. Go to: http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpcoop/ichihtml/cdnhome.html

On upper left hand side of the page hit "Search" and then type in "Edgewater". There's about 20 photos, many of swimmers and beach babes at the beach.

It's a shame that a group has not been formed to support historic US Hwy 41 like there is for US Route 66.
