Proposed Lake Front bike/walk project – The renderings that I have seen are beautiful, but when I called the Alderman’s office to find out what my new taxes would be, I was told ~1000.00 more and was told that since I live in west Edgewater, it’s cheaper. Closer to the lake you are, you will pay more.

So, think twice about voting for this in the upcoming election. Personally, paying over $10K in taxes, I don’t need a 10% tax increase from the Ward, especially since I’ll see increases from the City of Chicago.

I sent an email to the Alderman’s office stating that this architectural company only knows how to build 1 type of building and is the same type they built further south on Clark. What happened to historical preservation? I was unaware of any meetings regarding the proposed design and re-zoning. Is this how the Alderman’s office operates?

4-stories, what an eye sore along with the architecture, it simply does not fit in.

I’m glad O’Conner is not running unopposed, we now have a choice and can get our voice heard and action actually taken.

I wouldn’t mind as much if it wasn’t four stories. They built the tallest building in Andersonville the last time they tore down a building (5434). If he truly cares about the “neighborhood he lives in” then stop destroying it by making it a neighborhood that is more relevant in other parts of the city.

How many of these vanilla condo buildings are they going to erect in Edgewater and Andersonville? What the area really needs is something that builds the community.

Too bad they couldn’t have acquired the Pisner site that Chody is going to turn into more strip mall blight.

Something along these lines would have been much better than the strip mall blight the Chody will continue to mar edgewater with.

I think it’s great that something will go up in this space! I’m curious as to what retailers will go in the possible 2 retail spaces referenced. There are empty store fronts in the area on Ashland and further north on Clark, and hope this can liven things up.
