Seeing these meaningless platitudes scrawled on the sidewalk on my way to work reminds me of why Homer Simpson finds Ned Flanders so annoying. I appreciate the sentiment behind it, and it’s nice other people enjoy it, but they annoy me to no end.

I didn’t realize it was a more widespread thing. I thought they were just for me. :-) They always make me stop, read and smile. Sometimes I’ll see a message that’s exactly what I needed to hear at that particular time. I appreciate that people would take the time to make a positive difference to strangers. It gives me a sense of hope in humanity, when it can be easy to think there aren’t any good people out there. Sounds like you’re doing good work. I’m not a churchy person but it would be nice to feel more of a sense of community. Might try to sneak in sometime.
