Kitten Therapy Event to Benefit Edgewater’s Tree House Humane Society

Stressed out? Andersonville’s RE: chiropractic + wellness has an unconventional cure…one that will also benefit a local humane society!kitten therapy

Inspired by this video, “Kitten Therapy” will be held on March 14th from 10am-1pm at 5347 N. Clark #2. For a $5 donation to Tree House (or a donation of items like litter, cat food and toys), visitors will be able play with adoptable kittens and, hopefully, watch their stress magically melt away with each furry snuggle.

Giving back to the community is far from unconventional for Dr. Sarah Ghorbanian, the owner of RE: chiropractic and wellness, but having kittens in the office certainly is. Sarah says “Our patients know that at RE, we like to have a little fun. We are not the cookie cutter chiropractic office, we love this community – in fact we choose a different charity to support every month – and having recently read an article about AAT (animal assisted therapy) and seeing the Tidy Cat video about how kitten therapy is THE prescription for stress, I thought this would be fun. I reached out to Tree House, they were up for it, and now the event has been viewed over 10,000 times on Facebook!”

Tree House Humane Society and RE: chiropractic and wellness are not the only local businesses getting in on the kitten therapy fun. Sarah Ghorbanian, D.C. continued “My neighbor owns Jameson Loves Danger, and that’s where I buy treats for the dogs that visit my office. Because they are awesome people, they are offering 5% off to anyone who mentions the event.”

Chelsea Alexander of Tree House told us “The response to this event on social media has been remarkable, easily one of the biggest we’ve ever done. We’re so grateful for the Andersonville community’s commitment to saving animals, and especially to local businesses like RE: chiropractic + wellness for supporting our mission!”

Local businesses supporting nonprofits to work together in helping both human and four-legged friends is part of what makes Andersonville such a special community. Go forth and de-stress with some kitten therapy!
