Rob Cahill, founding director of Community Cloud Forest Conservation, will bring a visually rich presentation focusing on cloud forest ecology and endemic birds. Rob and his family have lived and worked in the conservation of cloud forests in Guatemala’s central highlands for 12 years. CCFC just finished a two year grant in neotropical migratory bird conservation with US Fish and Wildlife and Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Rob will discuss challenges to doing conservation in a developing country and offer a model for successful initiatives. He will give an update on a reforestation project undertaken in partnership with local conservationists
